Point Molate casino passes environmental review

The Richmond City Council approved the Point Molate casino environmental impact report yesterday. While the EIR is a significant hurdle, the council will not make its final decision of whether to go ahead with the $1 billion project until April 5. Point Molate casino likely to be approved in Richmond

The long-debated casino and resort appears to be on the brink of approval by the city of Richmond, which has just finished reviewing the environmental impact report. The billion-dollar project will still require state and federal approval.
