Enviro review of SF’s America’s Cup race begins tonight

SF officials reaching out to public to ensure speedy enviro review of America’s Cup plans

San Francisco is making a special effort to reach out to the public and environmental groups during the environmental review of the America’s Cup plans. The review has been fast-tracked in order to gets plans in place by the 2013 games. Officials are hoping to avoid lawsuits.

Tight timeline on America’s Cup shortcuts bidding on environmental review

San Francisco skipped a competitive bidding process for environmental review of the America’s Cup event in 2013, citing a tight timeline. The contract goes to Environmental Science Associates, which is also doing environmental review of the cruise ship terminal.
