San Francisco planning officials released the first draft of an environmental impact report for the 2013 America’s Cup races. They expect a half million people to turn up on these shores for the international sailing competition, including 77,000 people onto the sensitive habitat area at Crissy Field. Environmental groups are busy scouring the plan to determine how to minimize impacts, such as trampling of sensitive plants and potentially overwhelming traffic.
