Japanese tsunami debris to hit California shores

The wreckage from the March tsunami in Japan is headed towards California shores. Furniture, pieces of houses and cars, boats, plastic bottles and much, much more is traveling at a clip of about 10 miles a day across 3,800 miles of Pacific Ocean. Some of it is sinking, but some will not. U.S. officials are studying the debris and say it’s unlikely to be radioactive because it was swept out to see before the nuclear power plant meltdowns. But there could be some macabre discoveries, like body parts. It won’t be coming soon, though. Put 2013 and 2014 on your calendars. [Read more - San Jose Mercury News].
