San Francisco opens its new green airport terminal

A planeload of famous people disembarked from the first flight to land at San Francisco International Airport’s Terminal 2 on Wednesday, drawing attention to the new environmentally-friendly terminal, which will be open to all flights next week. The terminal is on track to become the U.S. Green Building Council’s first LEED gold-certified terminal; it includes local restaurants serving locally-sourced food, compost bins, recycled materials, and reclaimed-water toilets.
